“Cyber security is a vital issue which concerns all in the government and private sectors. Incidents of online security breaches, cybercrime and attacks have been widely reported in the media of late. These risks would increase many-fold in future when everything is communicated over the digital space. We believe that it’s of extreme importance that organizations take measures to safeguard themselves and their clients from any cyber threats which would affect the security and confidentiality of information,” Pethiyagoda said.

“We believe that the Cyber Security Summit 2016 would deal with these issues by creating wide awareness and through the introduction of best practices to tighten the cyber security of organisations,” added Pethiyagoda.

Sri Lanka Insurance has been serving the nation for over five decades and has the most experienced technical knowledge base in the island’s insurance industry. Sri Lanka Insurance is the first insurance company to have been assigned a global rating for financial stability AA (lka) from Fitch Ratings, London and is also the only insurer to have been awarded RAM Ratings’ AAA for its ‘long term claim paying ability’. The company has also been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for correct governing and operational procedures in line with accepted global standards.
