Sri Lanka’s first batch of EC-Council Network Security Administrators (E|NSA) passed out recently from CICRA Consultancies (Pvt) Ltd – country’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organisation.

“It is very encouraging to receive a high demand for E|NSA inquiries. We had over 500 inquiries and got a full class at the first instance” said Boshan Dayaratne, Director/ CEO, CICRA.

“Whether you are a cyber security professional or an amateur who is looking for a career in network administration, you need to have fundamental knowledge in how to evaluate network and internet security issues and design, and on how to implement successful security policies and firewall strategies. What E|NSA brings is this knowledge” Mr. Dayaratne said.

“Considering the accelerated phase of IT infrastructure development of the corporate world and the importance of information security of these networks, you have to be proactive rather than reactive. Hence, a qualified staff is indeed a must. CICRA always ready fulfill this need” he said

“E|NSA contains lot of fundamental and theoretical knowledge that an information security person should know. That is why I opted to follow E|NSA even though I am already certified as an ethical hacker and a forensic investigator,” said Sandamali Silva (Synapsys Ltd) who followed E|NSA at CICRA.

““This is a long awaiting course and even I have inquired from EC-Council about the course. At that time it was not available in Sri Lanka. When it was first introduced to Sri Lanka by CICRA, I was lucky enough to follow it,” said Sydney Rajeeva Perera (Synapsys Ltd), another participant of E|NSA training.

“The course is very comprehensive, detailed, and I think it is very useful for IT security professionals to learn from very basics of network security to securing the network and conducting vulnerability assessments. Even right now I apply lot of what I have studied in the course,” Mr. Perera said.

Meanwhile, Sumith Rohana (Virtusa Pvt. Ltd), another participant of the training said that the manner the course and its modules had been structured was very good and he learnt many new things.

E|NSA certification looks at the network with defensive security measures and procedures from a Network Manager’s perspective. The course teaches 30 major modules in depth.

The E|NSA certification has been highly recognized by United States Government National Security Agency (NSA) during its 12th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE). The certification has also been recognized by the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) of the USA. Both these organizations certified E|NSA for meeting the training standard for information security professionals.

The next E|NSA batch is ready to start shortly. More information is available at www.cicra.lk.
